Towards the mountains

We offer a 5 day horsetour from  our home in the Sierras of Rocha towards Aigua, riding on hardly used trails where we are more likely to meet with a gaucho on horseback than with a car.

We will be spending between 4 and 6 hours a day on horseback, mostly walking and trotting, with some short canters. Each rider will get a saddlebag for his personal items, furthermore we will have a packhorse with us to bring along the tents and the food.

We spend the nights in placed elected for their tranquility and beauty of nature, in simple but stylish rooms of farmhouses on the way. One night, at the foot of Cerro Catherdral, Uruguays highest peak, we will spend in tents.

This is one experience to take you as far as possible from daily life – unless you happen to be a gaucho for a living – riding along grassy paths and under native trees we will hear little more than the hoofbeat of our horses and the singing of birds who share with us the joy of being under Uruguays inmense skies....
